Just before 10:30 AM on Monday morning, ETVFD was dispatched for a truck on fire at the intersection of Rill Road and Heron Drive. Our public safety partners from the Exeter Township Police Department arrived on the scene and determined there was a fire in the collection area of a trash truck. Two units from ETVFD arrived on scene and handled the fire.
Quite often these types of fires start for incorrectly discarded batteries. Be sure to follow the manufacture's recommendations for disposal. This often needs to be done through a recycling program.
