Why did you join the fire department? |
I originally started my volunteer career with another department due to my grandfather being a life member there. I wanted to honor him in some way and continue the family tradition of being part of a volunteer fire company. I then joined Exeter Fire Police after a few years and to join my husband in this department and have been with Exeter ever since. Coming from a law enforcement and volunteer family I wanted to try and help my community but knew I couldn't pull hoses and run into burning buildings so I decided to help on the fire police end. |

What are your hobbies and/or interests outside of the fire department? |
I enjoy anything nature related and anything dealing with conservation efforts and animal rescue. I volunteer with several dog rescues and am a member and volunteer with several conservation and national park organizations. Native American culture and education along with teaching in the scouting community to keep survival skills in the fore front of society. |

What do you like best about being part of the fire department? |
Most of all is the close friendships that have developed over all these years. Most have become like family and getting to help people and serve the community that I grew up in and decided to stay in as an adult makes me feel like I have done something good in my life. |
