Members spent the past few weeks reviewing brush fire operations, which are common in our area. Brush fire season typically starts in the spring and ends in the fall and are fueled by dry, hot and windy conditions. During training, members learned more about containment and extinguishment tactics, equipment maintenance and apparatus operations, including our new Brush 25 which was placed into service earlier this year.

Want to reduce the risk of brush fires? Here's what you can do to help:
✅Avoid any activities that involve fire or sparks when it’s hot, dry and windy
✅Keep water or an extinguisher near any open flames
✅Don't leave any open flames unattended
✅Be sure to fully extinguish fire pits, grills and other open flames when finished
