Crews from the Exeter Township Fire Department and mutual aid companies were dispatched to the 3900 block of Penns Drive in St. Lawrence at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday for a reported house fire. Deputy Chief Eric Lessig arrived on scene and reported a middle of the row, single family residence with fire and smoke from the second floor. Crews contained the fire to the room where it started and rescued the pets from the home. Units on the scene were released in a little over an hour.
