Just before 10am Exeter fire was dispatched for a warehouse fire at 11th and Chestnut in the City of Reading. Rescue 25 was dispatched along with tower 25 on the 2nd alarm assignment. Rescue 25 went en-route with a crew of 6, while tower 25 responded with a crew of 3, on arrival rescue 25 went to a RIT assignment while the truck went into elevated master streams. Rescue 25’s crew preformed a full 360 of the large warehouse and secured the collapse zone around the building. After about 45 minutes on scene rescue 25’s crew was spilt and put to work after the arrival of another RIT company. The building itself was a 4 story warehouse that was a full city block long. Exeter fire’s crews operated for about 5 hours before returning to service back in the township. Exeter Fire’s units that were on scene: Tower 25, Rescue 25, and Rescue Engine 25.
