Sunday crew runs a rollover accident on Schoffers Rd

 February 3, 2020

At 15:22 on Sunday afternoon, Rescue-Engine 25 was dispatched to Schoffers Rd in the area of Pennsylvania Ave for a single vehicle accident. Rescue-Engine 25 made the response with a crew of 5. After arriving on scene they found a single vehicle accident where the car went off the road and up the embankment thus making the car roll over. The lone occupant of the vehicle was tended to by EMS and taken to a local trauma center. The crew from Rescue-Engine 25 assisted EMS with patient care, stabilizing the vehicle, and securing power to the vehicle. Crews were placed in service after being on scene for roughly 35 minutes.

Today several members participated in a "special assignment" in support of the Reading Area Firefighters Museum. Chief Bickings, retired Assistant Chief Trievel, and firefighters Harry Huhn, Rick Quattrock, Jeff Staller, and Patrick Bickings assisted the museum staff in transporting a 1909 American LaFrance steam fire engine from Schuylkill County to the museum's headquarters at South Fifth and Laurel Streets in Reading. The steam engine originally belonged to the Union Fire Company # 13 in Reading. The members were happy to help bring some of the Reading area's firefighting history back home. If you have not checked it out, please be sure to visit the museum! ... See MoreSee Less
