Just after 1400 on September 15th, rescue 25 was dispatched to interstate 176 in Robeson twp for a report of an accident with one reported trapped down an embankment. Rescue 25 went responding with a crew of 6 plus the on duty chief. The assignment brought in rescue engine 23, engine 24, and rescue 25 to the scene. Rescue 25 arrived first and confirmed the report of one car down an embankment about 40 feet down on a steep decline. With the help of rescue engine 23 they rescue crew deployed and anchored of a couple sections of life safety rope to descend down the embankment to gain access to the vehicle. After gaining access the crews utilized the 32 inch spreaders and cutters tool to free the trapped patient from their vehicle. After roughly 20 from arriving on scene the patient was extricated from their vehicle and transported to a local trauma center. The rescue crew cleared the scene in roughly 90 minutes and returned to service.
