Just after midnight rescue engine 25 was dispatched to Brice Villa in the area of the 4800 Blk of Perkiomen Ave for a house fire with reported entrapment. Rescue engine 25 made the response with a crew of 4, PD arrived on scene and gave the report of heavy fire showing from the building with the homeowner unaccounted for. After arrival the the crew from the rescue engine deployed an 1 3/4 inch crosslay to the front of the building and began an aggressive attack to gain access to the well advanced fire, while the rest of the crew from the rescue engine and ladder one (Mount Penn) began an interior search for the homeowner under heavy fire conditions. Crews were forced to pull out of the structure due to multiple holes in the floor right inside the door. A 2nd attack line was pulled by the crew of engine 7 (Birdsboro) and was taken to the rear of the structure to assist with suppression of the well involved building. The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes. Unfortunately the occupant was unable to exit the structure in time. Thoughts and prayers go out to friends and family of the homeowner.
