December 7th had back to back calls for the overnight crew.
At 17:57 Rescue-Engine 25 was dispatched to an Accident with Injuries at the intersection of Perkiomen Ave. and 39th Street. Deputy 25-2 arrived on location with a two vehicle accident in traffic, rear-end collision, one vehicle leaking fluids. One patient was transported to a local trauma center with minor injuries. R/E 25’s crew controlled fluids, and awaited towing company for vehicle removal. Crews cleared the accident at 18:45.
While the Rescue-Engine was returning to quarters, at 18:48, Company 25 was alerted for a structure fire in the 3800 block of Perkiomen Ave. Rescue-Engine 25 and Deputy 25-2 arrived on location with smoke showing from the doorway of the single story residence. Rescue-Engine 25’s lineman stretched a hose line. Rescue-Engine’s crew made entry to the residence, removed one cat from the residence, Rescue-Engine lineman and officer advanced the hose line along with Engine 25’s TIC man to find a laundry room area well involved with fire. The fire was extinguished within 5 minutes of arrival. Crews located the second cat after the fire was controlled, unfortunately the second cat perished in the fire.
